FAQ's for Sponsors:

Q: How do I tell what type of Sponsor I am?Subtle, huh? Pot of gold = value to readers.... so YOUR shop gets associated with VALUE!!

A: All Treasured Sponsors have the little "pot of gold" icon next to their names and are listed in a box at the start of each state/province’s listing. Valued Sponsors listings are below the Treasured box.

Why is this site called HowToConsign when it's SO much more?
We use the web address www.HowToConsign.com because anything longer would be hard for your customers to remember.
We cover not only consigning underloved items,
but selling to shops
and donating to charitable stores
and of course we cover shopping and buying resale

Look through our site. You'll find our info applies to your business as well, and I hope you will find this site invaluable for the smooth and pleasant operation of whatever variety of resale business you operate.

Q: How do I become the site’s Super Shop, as highlighted on the home page of HTC?

A: By chance, whim, and the phase of the moon. I will, from time to time, choose one of our Treasured Sponsors for that honor. Only Treasured Sponsors are listed on the dart board in my office. (Only kidding about the dart board, serious about the level of sponsor eligible to become Super Shop!)

Q: My web site’s almost finished. How do I get you to list it?

A: Just email me when your site is ready for prime time and visitors, and I’ll replace your e-business card with your "real" site.

Q: This Page Sponsor thing is all confusing. What is it?Become a Page Sponsor for even more exposure on HowToConsign.com

A: Page Sponsors are those shops who have elected to add the Page Sponsor option to their Sponsorship. For the rate of $1 a week, their name and link appears on one of our main pages: Why, How, Shop, or Start. This extra exposure where consumers linger, will highlight your shop nicely and should double your visits from my site.

Q: Where’s my Certificate of Appreciation?

A: Good question! It’s in my computer! Simply email me with your name and shop/ city and tell me you’re ready to have me send your to you via PDF, so you can print it out in full glorious color (or colour if you're Canadian) and frame it on your Brag Wall in your shop.

Q: What can I do to help your site help me and my clientele?

A: Best question yet. I consider you PARTNERS in this venture, so

  • add one of our graphic banners wherever it's suitable on your site.
  • Our banners don't suit your site's design? You don't want to use the word consignment on your site? That's okay, you're welcome to just use a link in your text like Find out the Secrets of Savvy Secondhand Shopping
  • add the URL of HTC to your business card, "how-to" brochures, bag-stuffers, and other handouts,
  • use any of the applicable banners in your e-newsletters and e-notices to your mailing list. Customers are impressed when you show that you are a member of a wider association!
  • and on the web help spread the word on other sites, blogs, and anywhere else you know of:
  • Email me for the "ReSell RePlace ReJoice SPONSOR" graphic to use on your site. We suggest you place this at the bottom of your home (index) page to show your professional affiliations, but use it wherever you think it will be most impressive.
  • Remember, too, that reporters LOVE sidebar information to add to any article they may write about you, so you can tell that reporter: "To learn how to make the most money of your underloved items, see the tips at www.HowToConsign.com."

The more folks who visit HTC, the more notice YOUR shop will get, the more prepared your suppliers and shoppers will be when they first arrive at your shop, and the all-round better the world will spin on its axis.
